Shan expects China's leadership will increasingly embrace a new economic development model that prioritizes goals other than economic growth. Shan: "The cost is less efficiency because you care about the quality rather than just efficiency" The longer term declining first rate and slower population growth or even outright decline, that seems to be pretty difficult to reverse looking at East Asian countries.
