Is Britain on the Right Side of the US Security Council?
Blair made the strategic calculation that you've got to be on the right side of it if you want to maintain your special relationship in the long term. It's hard to buy that argument, James, because another close ally of the United States, the French, decided most certainly not to get involved in that conflict. So what did Britain get out of this decision? Has Britain's relationship with the United States become stronger over the last 20 years, whereas the French have been moved to the wayside? I kind of think not.
