Xenophon - A Review

Xenophon's work is episodic, much is written as a series of anecdotes. It shows very little interest in areas and episodes in which Sparta was not in some way involved. He seems to have chosen his episodic and anecdotal history to recreate the past more vividly. But he writes less wholeheartedly about the current Spartans at the time that he published his Hellenica.
