i think about that in the context of, like, there was the uber self driving car that killed the pedestrian 20 18. The object recognition system had these different categories. And it kept essentially flickering between these two categories as like, ok, i see the bike frame in the tires, but no, she's not writing it. She's walking on the ground, so maybe it's a pedestrian. This is part of what contributed to the crash, because it kept essentially recomputing her probable trajectory from scratch every time it would change the category. Huge red flat. Huge red flie.
