The Exponential Acceleration of the World

There is a question whether something has changed in the last 40 or 50 years. The original Star Trek was William Shatner on the Starship Enterprise exploring, you know, new worlds and new civilizations. That's changed a little bit in recent decades to selling cheap vacations to the Caribbean. 80% of people in this country no longer believe that the next generation will be as well off as the current generation which is certainly very, very odd given this story of utopian progress we've often been told.
