What Is a Roman Camp?
A roma fort is something that's built and intended to last. Whereas what we would call a camp is a temporary structure. These are only meant to be temporary structures, so they're difficult to find. But one of the things we do find from them is the ditch, the rampart and the ditch. And although some of the classical authors suggest that they sould have destroyed a camp when they left it, we've got enough surviving to know that that didn't routinely happen the time.
