The Spartans Sent in King Pausanius to Squeeze the Thebans
Lysander is leading the smaller of two pincers that the spartans have sent in to squeeze the thebans. They also sent in king pausanius from the southeast, who was going to circle around mount cithyron. Pausanius was supposed to meet lysander on an appointed day and a place that lysander was supposed to determine. And it must have been on lysander's mind that pausaniu was not, in fact, in favor of opening up a new war with thebes.
