The Future of UUVs
A lot of UUVs at the moment are being used for mapping the sea floor in a military sensor. That is a type of intelligence gathering. It is a spy mission because it allows other submarines and or anti-submarine efforts to be much more effective in future. But there also talks that the more sophisticated UUVs can do things like map the unique electromagnetic signature of a particular enemy sub. So you can tell when that submarine is coming and going to port.
