The Serp Has a Female Nature

Young's soul begins by stating, i bind the above with the below. This is a statement that is most famously found in alchemy. Young always spoke openly that he saw alchemy as the continuation of the spirit of gnosticism. The phrase appears spoken by young's soul twice in this opening passage. It makes me wonder, had young already studied the emerald tablet by this point, or did he discover this insight himself? Was it a phrase given to him by his soul? If so, perhaps this was one of the motivations to pursue his passionate study of alchemy.
