The March of Follie from Troy to Vietnam by Barbara Tushman is a delightful author in a number of books. She, you know, I'm somebody who strongly prefers that we characterize systems of power and those who are dominant within them as incompetent and stupid. And she does an amazing job of this in book after book describing just the lunatic idiocy of people who were in positions of power. But also please do keep in mind that as we go through this work, I'll incorporate a lot of other examples into our journey.
