Introduction
It's way too early to reach any kind of real understandings about what's going on, says Mark Galliotti. The Ukrainians have demonstrated themselves to be pretty flexible, and although they will have their battle plans, there will inevitably be certain amount of scope for contingencies. They also want to try and pin down the Russian forces so that they can't shift reserves to areas where they are under greater pressure. So as I said, this is early, and we can expect a certain amount of back and forth.
