This is a way for him to extend his power because he had already been governor, and there was a constitutional band in place that said there were term limits. And i think it's worth saying that this is an extension of women's second class citizenship that's still in place at this moment in us. When my mam was applying for a credit card in the early 19 seventies, she got turned down. The letter that turned her down said that she needed her husband's signature in order to be extended credit.
