The Wind Changed Directions, and Mother Moved the Wind

The day of the race, mother appeared on the beach carrying a big bundle. She asked each of her sons if she could ride with them, but they all said, no. Well, all except for jabero, her youngest and kindest, most easy going son. Javero watched with wonder and confusion as his mom pulled out two wooden poles, a coil of rope and a large piece of cloth.
