The War of Attrition: How Botany and Forestry Can Keep Invasive Species at Bay

I've uncle an aunt that lived up near Portola, California. They had some rental like cabins and a lake and they owned all the land around there. And somebody was kind enough to put some pike in there, killed off everything else. So just about destroyed them financially because somebody going planted that in there. But my point with all this is that we have repeatedly as humans done things which were against nature and not looked at, we can't understand what the potential impacts are. How do I balance my excitement over the new technology and the cool things that you can do with looking at the impacts of all these things?
