The Negative Effects of Compulsory Tenants on Education

In 1999, a paper was published saying that compulsory tenants measures to measure the true causal elective education have exploded. In 2015, there is a critique in the AR of the entire literature saying that's almost all wrong. There are lags and people whose life's work has been destroyed or allegedly destroyed by using this kind of birth-to-age data which can actually be used to disprove it. But I haven't seen anyone reply to those criticisms yet.
