There's a growing outcry in Hong Kong over hamsters. Two former Cathay airline attendants were each sentenced to eight weeks in jail for breaching COVID-19 quarantine rules. Health authorities said there could have been a hamster to human transmission of the coronavirus. So the government imposed an import ban on small animals, including hamsters and announced it would kill all hamsters bought after December 22. Since last January, more than 23,000 hamsters were called. And now, one year later, the government has announced import ban on hamsters would be lifted.
