The Atlantic and the New Statesman
The American media world has quite an array of weekly or fortnightly or monthly political magazines, not so different from the new Statesman. The most obvious rival would be the Atlantic, but it just reflects a little bit on the difference between what the American weekly news magazines are doing and what the Statesman's doing. I think that when I was in New York and Washington, by then I'd left the New Statesman, but I could see the Atlantic pioneering the kind of digital coverage that I would have loved to be involved in during my time there.
