The Spanish were shocked at this. They'd never seen cannibalism and human sacrifice so institutionalized. And then they'd never seen what they called sodomy, what we would call homosexuality ritualized. It became kind of a fanatic thing to stamp this out, but also to profit from it and to get rich.
