The Use and Significance of Cauldrons in Early Mediaeval Literature
The significance of cauldrons in the culture of iron age, britain and ireland. The huge pots were primarily used to cook food, particularly soups and stews containing meat. Almost all of the caldrons from this period show signs of having been through repairs - which indicates a long social life for each individual cauldron.
