Kipcelis overthrew the aristocratic bacchiates and took power in Corinth. The new tyrant confiscated their land and redistributed to his followers, probably elites rather than the more common folk of the demos. During Kipcelis' 30-year rule, Corinth is said to have prospered with pottery becoming a ubiquitous trade good across the Mediterranean.
