Clara is the daughter of a Jamaican immigrant to or migrant to Britain. Her mom Hortense is a very devout Jehovah's witness. Clara spends a lot of time as a kid like past now pamphlets at school you know about the 144,000 people that are gonna make it when the end times come. She starts trying to like rebel from her Jehovah's Witness mom by getting into this guy and lo and behold she comes home from school one day and this guy has already been converted by her mom and they're trying to save her. The last man on earth not Archie but the other guy Ryan tops. And the thing about Clara that kind of sets off the why this book is called
