The Importance of Branding in UX

I'm more and more feeling that I'm doing so much more than what people incorporate into the term UX. How much branding of UX do we need to make progress in our journey to mature the industry? Whereas how much can we just ignore? Do psychologists need to present themselves as behavior economists in order to progress the industry? So it depends on what your goals are.
