The History of the Second Crusade
This story is complete and utter b s it first appears in sources written in the 16 hundreds. When eleanor was on crusade, saladin hadn't even started his military career because he was still a child. The couple would continue on to jerusalem, but by april of 11, forty nine, it was clear that the second crusade had completely exhausted itself. Louis and eleanor notably took different ships home from the holy land. But believe it or not, their marriage wasn't dead yet.
