The Immaculate Rebalance
The immaculate rebalance is a method of indexing used by research affiliates. In 2005, research affiliates created an index with foot C and used that as the basis for an ETF with Invesco. The firm's methodology was to weigh 1000 largest stocks in proportion to their fundamentals. They did this once a year at the end of December but chose March because it coincided with the bottom of the stock market during the financial crisis.
