How to Speak English in a Major City
I would avoid English like the plague. When I'm fully immersed in the language, I would avoid parties with other foreigners. It's such a pity to go abroad and then spend most of that time studying and not experiencing the culture. Spend the next year getting spoken practice on Skype or maybe there's a foreign exchange program at your university. That's something you can do back home. And if you're locked in a dary room with a dusty book, that's not making a count.
