The History of Wireless Tuners

High-end models had companion circuitry that didn't work quite as well. We would sell them with a Toshiba receiver, because next to our plant in Oakland there was a distributor for Toshiba tuners. I remember playing like the Treasure Island here in San Francisco Bay Area for drunken sailors in an officer's club. And these guys would whack it away at my strings thinking I was just faking it. But after things really took off after 77, people had to be going crazy.
