The New Town of Mose Was a Strategic Strategy to Destabilize the British Colonies

Many enslaved people in the carolinas came from those countries and were almost certainly already catholic before they even got to florida. But regardless of that, florida was becoming more and more a social and political battle ground between the different empires. The foundation of this new town of mose was not simply an act of beneficence or humanitarianism it was strategic. It it would attract more runaways into florida, and hence sap the man power of the british olony. And also serve as a buffer to help protect the northern flank of florida against british or other attacks.
