Tekana Is a Place and a People
Laue cale is a rangy, shorn skulled herder of the takana tribe. He lives with his two wives and six children in an isolated collection of five thatched reed huts. Ekale and his family are pastoralists, live stock herders whose existence is contingent upon water and pasture. Ever since he was a boy, akale says, i was led by green pastures. Tekana is a place and a people, and for both, migration has always been the path to survival.
