The Importance of Research in Teaching

There's something to be said for getting in there and doing your own research a little bit about this stuff. I was titillated by the recent news of a 6.5 earthquake, but it didn't even happen in area 51. The underneath area 51 is a massive underground bunker. It's like finding that weird place between letting your kid flail and not letting them flail too much or they'll hurt themselves.
