TPOR-Mutiful CalR in MPNs

The mutation creates an altered C-terminal end-tail in calR that enables pathological activation of the thrombopoatin receptor. Complexes of mutant calR and TPOR are transported to the cell surface, which in turn drives proliferation of hemetopoetic cells Jak stat pathway. The researchers believe this so-called rogue cytokine effect would be relevant to the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms.
