Radio Telescopes Are Sensitive
The s k a will be able to detect the equivalent of an airport radar on a planet ten light years away. It consists of 130,000 antennas that look like christmas trees. We're joining them all up this way and that - it's the equivalent of a gigantic telescope. And that's what we're using to listen for the first start. A hundred and 30 thousand. That's outrageous. But tese, these telescopes are seriously sensitive. If your phone goes? It swamps out the galaxy entirely.
