The other co-founder of OpenAI that's frequently mentioned is Sam Altman, the current CEO of OpenAI. He was previously president of Y Combinator; he stepped down from that position to focus on OpenAI. Elon Musk would sit on the board of directors for OpenAI until 2018. Now collectively, the founders and partners all pledged $1 billion to fund OpenAI.
