What Is Gentrification?
Gentrification is the process of rich people moving to a poorer place and then having more power than existing residents. It's caused by big economic trends such as mass car ownership, post-industrialism and agglomeration effects in inner cities. People want to live in inner cities because of cultural and social changes. The system we have means that rich people have more power than poorer people.
