Is Haskell a Better Way to Define a Function?

When i first saw haskell, just the syntax of how you define a function was a beyond my comprehension. And then there's some things that i learned from elm that i can now look at haskell and go, oh, yes, i can see why they're doing that. But having that dropped on you all at once, ok, everything's different. It's like, oh, it's whelming, and you can't, you kno, we have to allow for incremental understanding.
