i'd like to turn to a different angle of the intelligence story here. There was a report last week that president byden sent the c i a director, bill burns, to the afghan capital to meet with the telebon leadership. This is certainly common for c i a directors. But it's less common to do so with people overseas who are less than friends and have been combat enemies. The opportunity to find that information that will add fidelity is diminishing as well.
