How Can Credit Cards Be Opened in Someone's Name?
The Financial Ombudsman Service is a step beyond the banks, says Catherine. Security checks are in place when it comes to opening credit cards in your name. But Julie's case and others have shown it seems relatively easy for criminals to bypass some of these checks. I think for me the answer is not necessarily imposing more rules, but making sure that the banks are already meeting their existing obligations.
