Why Are People Saying No to Asylum Seekets?

There are still people and organizations who are more than willing to provide housing to ucranian refugees. But in the overwhelming majority of cases, these people have said that they just want ucranians. They don't want direct provision applicants. It's possible people are worried about the reaction from local communities. And we have seen several instances this year and in previous years, of local communities getting fairly upset when asylum seeket accommodation is opened in their location. This gives them less time to consult with communities and less time to prepare these accommodation locations.
