The Desire of the Slugger Kills Him
Dostoevsky said his often quoted line, "The desire or the craving of the slugger kills him" Listen to this tragic story that I think illustrates this well. During World War II, there was a Nazi death camp in Hungary. The prisoners were required to work in a factory where they took human waste and distilled it into a fuel product. So every day in these conditions, these men went to work knowing that their work strengthened the Nazi war machine that was destroying their own people.
