The Cost of Pandemic Preparedness

You would expect that people would be more concerned about pandemics, things we've just had. People sometimes think about this question in a vacuum and think, do I think that this is the best use of my money? No, because it's a pretty remote risk. But if you think about government and other spending as directed toward a portfolio of technologies and useful things in the world, there's an enormous amount of money spent on stuff much less valuable.
