The Debate Over the AGPL Versus the GPL

The most important software that runs the Internet is all open source. But it certainly doesn't seem to have, that we've actually democratized control over technology at all. The AGPL was specifically designed to try to accommodate the fact that software was no longer really being distributed on CDs or anything. Microsoft bought GitHub a few months ago because of Git, which is this free software program but isn't free.
