Are We at the Edge of Our Cage?

I would imagine what triggered it, triggered a much more intense look at humanity was nuclear. There's an urgency like, hey, you know, send a message to these guys before they really blow it all up. And the fact that we're at the edge of our cage, so to speak, and out into the universe. We may be going out into somebody else's neighborhood. You know about the Fermi paradox? You heard that? Yeah. So, I think we're at ... maybe that explains the timing as well.
