What Are the Initial First Steps of a Project?

The first phase of the project was to try and clarify what the thesis wants to be. And i would also, i've did a lot of writing, i would write kind of thought experiments, or just why i'm interested in an and arguments about these three different things. Just put it all out there on paper, and then start to connect em the dots, much as you would when you were doing research for a project. So that's cin the initial first steps i took.
