What's It Like When You Change From Sister to Mother?
When you're tonsured, that's when you receive a new name. The byzantine liturgical life is lived to its fullest and it really is amersive. Like fasting without feasting is just kind of joyless. But feasting without fasting is just gladness, yet also joyless in a way, isn't it? You're just feasting continually. It feels like your being incultrated into something different. And i experienced the deepest interior change at my life profession, more so than my tonture. I'm not saying that it's the same experience as biological motherhood but there's so much grace.
