Moff Gideon is a proxy essentially for Palpatine. I don't think Moff Gideon cares about cloning. I think he cares about getting in good with his emperor. And that was all just to, you know, get baby Yoda back to it also Pershing in the past showed he showed sympathy toward baby Yoda. So I think this is kind of a little bit of revenge. If you really want to know the honesty, I don't believe that it's motivated by revenge.
