What Is the Story of the Okale?
The okali were unusual as a non timuka tribe that was pulled into the spanish orbit. In 15 97, they travelled together to saint augustine and asked for missionaries to be placed in their territories. But this then provoe e the anger and fear of neighboring tribes that were non christian and that opposed the spSpanish expansion. So non christian tribes, meanly, tokobaga and pohoi, then attacked and killed many of the christian indians in the okale. Later after that point, after about 16 20, it seems that the okale basically just disappeared and faded away as a group. And they probably again dissolved and merged with other neighboring
