Chastity in the Context of Marriage
St. Francis of Avila: If you contemplate a temporal marriage be careful to keep your first love for your first husband. St. Jerome's letters will furnish you with all the counsels necessary for you, and given that your condition requires you to live a life of obedience, choose a guide under whose direction you may more wholly dedicate your heart and body to his divine majesty. The single person lives chastity to prepare for his or her vocation, whether that's marriage priesthood consecrated life. As people get older for a more proximate preparation for heaven, God willing.
