PBS NewsHour was one of the most staid political commentary programs that probably existed on television. The Cuban American National Foundation and exile group warned that relinquishing the boy would amount to a propaganda victory for Fidel Castro. It put the US government in a position where they couldn't move with determinates to do what they wanted to do for fear of bending to Castro's wishes.
