A Feminist Debate on Sex Work
The Soho Forum Debates
Do You Have a Right to Sell Sex?
If it's illegal for people to pay you for sex, you don't really have a right to sell sex. Any one harmed in the course of doing sex work could still seek redress for that harm. The state could prosecute those harms, but the underlying exchange of sex for money would not be prosecuted. Under a criminalised system, sex workers are often not able to go to police to report harms against them or against members of their community.
