The King's gold death mask has become the icon of ancient Egypt. But how many people know that Tutankhamun was buried with his underwear and a lock of grandmother's hair? There are all sorts of quite ordinary everyday objects, loaves of bread, joints of meat,. jars of honey, lots of wine, all sorts of things buried in the tomb. And they may not be as recognizable as the gold and the jewellery, but they have amazing stories to tell. They do indeed.
