Some philosophers of science and some scientists have thought truth is kind of a it's a sort of fetish or it's a kind of illusion. There's a role for science itself in telling us what goals are reasonable goals within science, I think. The values that are inherent to the scientific inquiry can't themselves be scientifically validated.
